Claire Ashley

Principal Teacher

Claire holds several Fellowship teaching qualifications with the International Dance Teachers’ Association (IDTA) along with a BA Honours Degree in Dance and Community Arts. Claire is an ADFP Championship adjudicator and also holds an enhanced CRB disclosure along with first aid qualifications.

Claire is a very enthusiastic teacher who is driven by her passion for dance and the success and enjoyment of her students. Claire strives to teach classes where children have the maximum amount of fun in a non-pressurised environment. She has over 20 years teaching experience, teaching children and adults from beginner to professional level in a whole range of dance styles.

“Owning a Dance School has been a lifetime ambition of mine and I love to see every one of my pupils fulfil their potential whether it be for fun or competitive reasons. Believe and you can achieve, everyone has the potential to succeed!”

Martin

Director of Dance Fusion

Martin is Claire’s husband and takes responsibility for finances, dancewear, shows and any trips organised throughout the Dance School. Martin is fully CRB checked, holds a chaperone licence and is also first aid trained. Martin is heavily involved within Dance Fusion and you are more than likely to see him about. If you’re ever at a performance or competition with Martin you will probably hear him before you see him!

Nikita Knight

Associate Teacher

Nikita has been a student at Dance Fusion for over 10 years before training and taking her Teaching qualifications in 2017. Nikita passed with top marks and was highly thought of by the former Chief Executive of the IDTA in examination. Nikita has been a part of Fused Display team for a number of years and has performed on the West End Stage a number of times with Fused. Nikita is CRB checked and has First Aid qualifications.

“I know I’m a Dance Teacher as i now see the word ‘and’ as a number. I would always say dance first and think later!”

Gemma Goodyear

Associate Teacher

Gemma is the latest recruit to join the teaching team at Dance Fusion. Gemma has been a student at Dance Fusion for over 10 years before starting her teacher training in 2023. Gemma has performed many times in venues that most performers can only dream of including Her Majesty’s Theatre, London and The Royal Albert Hall to name only a couple.

Gemma also competed in Freestyle competitions around the UK winning many a trophy along the way. Having only ever danced for Dance Fusion it is with great pride how successful Gemma was in her performances and competition dancing.
